Someone was kind enough to give me some old equipment that they were no longer using.

Can anyone help me identify what these pieces are (and approximate dates of manufacture)? I am thinking of getting the items serviced but am not sure if they will be worth the trouble.

These two second stages came together.

Below is the matching 1st stage

Another second stage which came with the same 1st stage as above..

This one is really cool looking.

It came with this first stage.

My diving is pretty tame with most occuring shallower than 60 feet. I dive in 50+ degree waters. I think it's gonna cost bucks to get this stuff serviced. Would these things be reliable and perform well enough for the kind of diving I do after getting them properly serviced?

TIA

Wow, it looks as if you scored big time on some solid gear! I am not entirely familiar with all of the items that you have, but the 3rd picture appears to be a MK10 1st stage, while the 2nd picture appears to be a D400 2nd stage.

You can get a set of regs (1st and 2 2nds) for probably ~$100. Once you get that done you are all set. I obtained my reg set the same way as you and had the MK!0/G250 serviced and they work great.

Good luck with them and if you happen not to want that G200 then keep me in mind.

I still use the G200 I bought 16 years ago as my primary. Back then I was diving water in the 50s, no problems. My first stage is a MK10 but it doesn't look quite like that first one, different yoke screw.

the first stages are probably a MK5 or MK10 on the first regulator ...... the second regulator is maybe a Mk2 or Mk3 .... old stuff but they look like they are in fair condition. YOU NEED TO TAKE THEM TO AN AUTHORIZER SCUBAPRO DEALER and ask them to take a closer look at them. The cost to service them may exceed their value since you are not the original owner and will have to pay for both parts and labor. You could be doing yourself a favor and sell them on ebay and take the money and buy something new.

Cool stuff!

I'd take it to an authorized ScubaPro dealer who does a lot of service and have them go over all the pieces you want to keep. The first stage and chrome second stage are really cool and will work beautifully once serviced.

I beleive the funny shaped one is some sort of spare 2nd.

Alsom the first stage has a yoke that's only rated for 2640, which is fine if you're diving LP tanks, but will need to be replaced if you're diving Al 80's at 3000 PSI or better. It's not an expensive part even if you need it.

I wouldn't worry about not having "free parts for life" since the service parts aren't terribly expensive anyway.

Congratulations!

Terry

That, my friend, is a Scuba Pro A.I.R. 1. Only the best second stage SP ever produced (IMHO).

The problem is: SP doesn't make the annual rebuild kits for them anymore. I've found them on ebay in the past, but not recently. If anyone out there has a line on them or still rebuilds them, let me know. I've got 3 of them that I just can't bring myself to throw away.

This is the one I'm referring to. The other is a D400, still a good reg., but not in the same league as an AIR 1. IMHO, once again. By the way, it's in damn fine shape. Too many used ones on the market are in poor shape, especially the military issue ones. They were used in salvage and other grunt work. Navy divers loved them because they were just about impossible to overbreathe. When you're doing physically demanding underwater work, the last thing you want to worry about is a reg you have to work hard to suck air out of.

Looks like G200, Air-1, MK5, D350, 108, MK3. I would bet they all work very well as they are. I would hook the MK3 to the 108 and the MK5 to the Air I, Sell the G200 and D350 and use the proceeds for vintage scubapro guages.
