need help with choice of equiment

hello to all

I own a canon ixus i digi cam, and i just took up scuba.
Can someone help me as I am not sure what type of camera to use underwater is better. a digi cam or the old school type...

pls advise thanks

Use the digital, much easier learning curve. Plus may others here can be very helpful as they own similar cameras. Also since you already have the camera, getting a housing for this is your cheapest option.

I would however get confident underwater before trying to juggle a camera as well.

BTW do u know anything about the pic quality of compare to those old school cam?? say eg. colour different, image not that sharp etc...

Look at my gallery. This is with a 3MP canon camera. Quailty is excellent - they just won't blow up as large as a film camera can. Remember the lens is the key factor. A film camera with a poor lens is not going to be as sharp as a digi-cam with a good lens.

Wooo..... those are very nice pic, can i ask, did u use any external equiment other then the camera casing?? like external flash light.
cos i read about internal flash not able to produce good quailty pic.

oh and i more thing, which country are u staying?? can u leave a contack no. so i can call u for more info?? on scuba diving shooting ... thanks

Hey ... can i actually call u up to chat with u ... i really need advise regarding the digi cam and underwater cam... i am going redang on the 2nd oct... dono which to get for this trip.... reply me ya...
