Ok I really don't know where to post this for the most exposure. We are going on a cruise in July this year, and I want to know where the best place to dive is. We are going to San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, USVI Antigua, Tortola, BVI, Nassau, Bahamas. We are going on this cruise with our wives:( so we will only be diving at one place most likely. We are think of Nassau...who is the best charter to use there?

EDIT:

What are your opinions on bringing gear? I am not sure if we should bring all our gear, or only certain things?

Rather surprized there have'nt been many responses to this post.
We are also going on a July cruise out of San Juan but slightly different ports of call. The cruise ships are always saying to book excursions through them but they dont have many options this time other than St Thomas Coki Beach dive which we did last year with Dive World and would not go with them again. Hope to pick up some good leads on this forum especially for St Lucia. As far as gear goes we take masks and regs only, and regs as carry on. Good luck and have a great trip!

OK, here goes:

You won't be diving in Puerto Rico as the good diving is several hours drive from San Juan.

St. Thomas has good diving. I went with www.admiraltydive.com in December and had a very good time. I recommend them and their 3 tank dive trip. Like some of the other dive OP's there, they will pick up at the cruise dock. My St. Thomas Underwater photo gallery

If the time in port works out, I'd try to dive the Rhone in Tortola. I can't make a recommendation for a dive OP.

I don't know about Antigua diving.

Unless you want to do a shark dive and you are in port early enough to make the morning dive trip, I'd plan on not diving in Nassau.

Bring thermal protection, mask, reg and computer, I prefer my Volos over rental fins and I only bring a snorkel if I think I might snorkel.
