I'm new and like to know how to read these codes.
These code are from a Catalina tank.

TC-3ALM207BAR CATALINA
DOT-3AL3000AS29477M4002-07A94-S80

what's the hydro testing and visual testing period?
what's the life of the tank if use for paintball refill station?

hydros are valid for 5 years. The tank life is as long as it passes hydro... I have an Alum 80 from 1983 and 1989 and they are still good.

In the US, Hydro is 5 years, Visual is every year (for scuba). Not sure on the rules for that if it is used specifically for paintball, you'll probably want to check with the shop you're refilling at. They may insist on it because they don't want it blowing up on them refilling. As Culcuhain mentioned, tanks can last a long time. With the caveat that they're treated well and maintained... Make sure you store it on it's side, or secured if upright. You don't want it falling over and getting damaged.

Your tank has a born on date and last hydro of July 94. needs a hydro. I wouldn't fill it.

Hydro - As above.

"Visual testing" - There is no such thing as "visual testing." Scuba cylinders have visual inspections. The visual inspection period depends on the frequency of use of the cylinder in questions. A typical recreational cylinder in private hands that is used infrequently would need to have a visual inspection annually. A rental cylinder in frequent use in salt water at a dive shop should be inspected at least quarterly, if not monthly.

A lot depends on how well you treat and maintain your cylinder. Typically you can expect more than 100,000 fill cycles for a scuba cylinder. That assumes that you don't overfill and you prevent corrosion through proper visual inspection cycles.
