Hi,

I saw this fish on a wall in West Caicos at about 70 feet deep and I haven't been able to ID it, anyone knows what this is?

Thanks.

What a pretty little fish. I've never seen anything quite like it. The closest thing I can get out of the book is juvenile graysby.

Juvenile Carribbean Snapper? Looks like a small snapper of some sort.

'Nother completely uneducated guess .... :chicken:

Out on a limb here, but perhaps a juvenile Whitespotted Soapfish Rypticus maculatus? That's the only fish I've seen in the Caribbean/Atlantic with that prominent white face stripe.

Soapfishes are members of the sea bass family.
