Hey guys... I don't generally post here but thisis a last ditch effort. I have my DM and AI exam (NAUI) in 4-5 hours. I left my book at home on friday and I can't drive home to get it. I am PADI cert. up to DM so I have no clue how the NAUI tests are organized (i.e. multiple choice, true/false, fill in blank, ect.) and how hard they are. I have a copy of all of the outlined boxes from each section, but I'm afriad that is not enough. What happens if I fail the test???

If anyone has an online copy of the book, can offer practice test questions or math problems, any advice on what to study or any help all please POST ASAP!

I HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP!! WHAT DO I DO???

Being a PADI DM, you should have Instuctor Level Knowledge of all the Physics, Physiology, equiptment...etc. You should be OK on those.

I'm not sure about NAUI's Standards.

Asking for a copy of the Test or Answers is not the best way to proceed. Maybe you should put off the test until you are better prepared.

If anyone can offer advice or sample math problems with explanations I would greatly appreciate it. I left my book at home which is ~3hrs from where I go to college. Is there an online version of the book that NAIU offers? Please post!!

Anyway, anyone who can help thanks!

If you have to study for the exam as a "last ditch effort" you probably are not ready for the exam. On the other hand from looking at your prior posts and it appears that this is part of a university program - RELAX. Most university programs are very thorough and the candidate is well prepared for the exam and more importantly to become a professional in recreational scuba.

The NAUI exam is M/C. Being NAUI, the instructor is able to add to the questions. This is an excerpt from the NAUI Leadership and Instructor Courses - Instructor Guide.

Regarding academic freedom and course flexibility, Instructors are encouraged to provide additional questions related to information presented in their courses regarding specific local practices, policies, procedures, environment, laws, and regulations, Additionally, Instructors are encouraged to provide additional items of their own that of the constructed response (short answer or essay) format because these items measure a different and generally higher level of knowledge related to Bloom's Taxonomy.

The only help I can give you starts with" Our father ....etc,etc";)

Don't sweat it. If they're using the exam from the CD (which is most often the case), it's multiple choice, and you're going to pass it with *ease*. The NAUI Master Scuba Diver exam (taken either in the NAUI MSD course or as an entry test for NAUI AI or DM) is *much* "harder" than the final exam for NAUI DM.

If you ace it, you have better memory for a couple bits of trivia than I, but if you weren't slacking, you have nothing to worry about but worrying yourself out of relaxing. (Assuming you didn't just do the outlined boxes as a cram replacement for learning the material, that is. If that was a study supplement, you've got it made.)

Of course, as was noted above, they don't have to use the CD's exam (or to use it without editing or additions), but the point of the exam is just to verify that you know what you already know.

The first thing a sucba diver should do is panic. ;) (sorry for the inappropriate humor but i couldn't resist)

Relax or postpone. But it sure doesn't sound like you are ready. These are the kinds of life moments you look back on and wonder what all the fuss was about.

This is part of the training I reckon because IMHO it is important for anybody that will be taking a leadership position, especially where others' safety is concerned, to learn also to be calm/decisive under pressure while also being well organized - my wife always says "Chance favors the prepared mind".

I'd say postpone if you cannot go into this exam with confidence. Leaving your book at home is kind of like "the dog ate my homework". Stop. Look at where you're at; decide what you are going to do; then do it and do not look back. Ace this because you can and not because you were lucky. Postpone it if you're not just stressing because the pressure's getting to you.

Good luck!
