Hello everybody!!

I've been looking for information about Langkawi dives in posted forums but... anything found!! :(

Does anybody can help me with some first hand information?? Do you think is a good diving area??

Thanks a lot in advanced!!!! :D

Clearly I wouldn't qualify the area as a "good" diving area. :(

The only Malaysian dive around is located 2h speedboat south on Payar marine park, which is mainly shallow bottom with soft corals, low viz, some reef sharks, and mostly hundreds of asian tourists swimming with yellow lifejackets.

More interestingly the thai island of Koh Lipe can be reached from Langkawi, there are a few Ok dive spots with macro mainly and carpets of soft corals, though not as interesting dive wise as upper north on the Hins or the Similan group.

That was an example, there are lots of places in South eatern asia where the dives are a lot better than around Langkawi.
Why are you focused on this island especially and when are you going?
