HI fellow divers, I'm looking for advice on increasing the buoyancy of my Backscatter Macro Wide 4300 Underwater Video Light (MW-4300). The lights are very negatively buoyant, and I'm trying to find a way to make it more neutral.

I'm wondering if anyone has specific recommendations or successful solutions they’ve used for this light. Any advice on where to get suitable buoyancy accessories or DIY tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

The Stix floats on your flash arms will help with the negative buoyancy. They sell them at backscatter and other places.

When I was thinking of ways to DIY mine I found reports of cheap foam from around the house collapsing at depth

Will see what wiser minds recommend

My DIY tips are:
- Crab pot floats, they tend to be about 1lb of buoyancy, foam doesn’t collapse at depth, very cheap ($2 per float at my local marine store)

- If you want to get fancy, a 3D printer and ASA Aero foam. I’ve successfully made float mounts for DPV accessories and cameras for this, and pressure-tested down to 90m with no loss of buoyancy.

Thanks, I have Stix floats for my setup, but my gf has flexarms for a tg6, so I can't mount the Stix there. I should have clarified.

I like that second option, I'll try to find somebody to print it for me. Thanks for the info
