Need a dive buddy Nov 6-12 in West End

Hi I am a 22 yr old female who is new to diving. I am heading to roatan with my aunt and her friend who was supposed to be my dive buddy, but he never finished his class, so now I am without a dive buddy. We are staying in the West End so I am looking for a dive buddy for the week. Any ideas if I will be able to find someone once I am down there?

You will not have a problem. You can either ask someone on the boat if you can dive with them or the divemaster will put you with a group or ask you to stay with him/her.

Check with Coconut Tree Divers. In addition to being a good group of people, they often have DM trainees on their boats. On a couple dives there were about 4-5 of them plus 2 instructors shadowing us. One afternoon dive there were 4 divers and 5 DM's. Since I shoot video, I had my own DM for 2 dives. We never dove with less than 2 DM's - one leading and one following. They're in the heart of the West End also. And Gay the owner knows everybody - ask her for restaurant recommendations. They also have the biggest boat in the West End afaik - but still limit divers to a comfortable number. Both of their boats have easy access also - some of the other diveops have smaller boats so you have to backroll off. Not that that's difficult...

That area is a marine reserve so you'll have to go out with a guide. Just sign up with any shop (I went with Bananarama which was lovely!) and they will pair you with someone.
