We're considering meeting friends in Hawaii in July/Aug for a cruise. In the past I've not been a big NCL fan, but for Hawaii, they've cornered the market.

My husband and I are avid divers. The other couple and their 14 yr old are all divers. The husband and daughter are AOW, but not alot of experience. The wife has about 10 dives and is not comfortable with anything much deeper then 40-50 ft.

The itinerary I'm looking at is on Pride of America and has port calls in Hilo, Kahului(full 2 days), Kona and Nawiliwili (full 2 days). The one-day stops arrive 8am and depart 6 or 7pm.

Has anyone done the similar itinerary on the Pride of Aloha and did you enjoy it? How is the diving in these areas of Hawaii? Advanced, good for beginners, etc? Long boat rides?

Looks like NCL only offers excursions in 1 or maybe 2 ports. We would likely book our own where we've got the full 2 days in port.

Any comments or suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks!
