Is this housing designed only for the Sony RX100? Would it work ok with a Sony RX 100ii, or Sony RX 100iii?

I believe the RX 100 housing is for the Sony RX100 only. I am not 100% certain on that.
I purchased the housing new from Bluewater, its still like brand new. They would have more direct answers to technical questions on their products. Bluewater or other UW camera web sites would also have information.

I think you will find there are three housings and the camera's have controls and flash in different locations. See links below (note the V in the fist link is due to the housing having the hdmi bulkhead, its not a version 5)
