Hi

Was wondering what is the best way to prepare for the naui instructor course? Also what to expect during the course? is the course similar to the DM course or not. Is there any sort of past exam papers that i can use to assist with my preparation?

any feedback would help?

thanks

There are two written exams in NAUI ITC the pre-assessment exam is usually given at the beginning of the course - it tests dive knowledge- physics, physiology, equipment etc.. This test is very similar to the Master Scuba Diver test so reviewing that material and test is always a good idea. You will then have another written test normally at the end that will be on teaching theory, standards and info from the instructor textbook and standards manual. A very good review of the standards manual is something to get you started.
The most important exams will be the evaluations of teaching of both water skills and classroom presentations. Depending on how thorough your DM class was the classes may be similar. When we train DMs they get to teach quite a bit under supervision so they normally have an easy time with the ITC presentations. Assisting with teaching a Master level course will also be a good way to prepare for the knowledge exam.
