Trip Report: Sandals

Sandals resort does, in fact, do everything they say they'll do. Our flight was VERY late, so we didn't arrive in Nassau until 10PM, but their rep was still at the airport, and had us on our way in under 10 minutes. Check in was easy and we were escorted to our "upgraded" room, which was very nice. Since we hadn't eaten since around noon, we were hungry and the only thing open that late was "Cricketers", an English Style Pub, but they had meal service until the wee hours, so our hunger was sated. They have 2 large pools, several hot tubs, a nice beach front, and open bars. There was also a well stocked bar in our room. (don't know if in every room, but probably) Breakfast was usually a buffet, but sit down service was available in a different restaurant. We usually ate lunch at the "Burger Bar" near the beach and "Towel Hut", but lunch service was available as well. Dinner was always a delight, with many restaurants to choose from, some with resort casual dress code (nice shorts, tee shirts, and footwear(no swimsuits)), and some requiring resort evening attire (Dress pants (Dockers, etc) collared shirts and closed toe shoes for the gentlemen, and equally nice pants sets or dresses for the ladies) only one restaurant was an upcharge( unless you were in a butler suite)

The clientelle ranged in age from 20 somethings to couples in their sixties with something for everyone. Every day they had games by the pool, ranging from trivia to volleyball to "Beer Pong"

They have snorkeling trips and dive boats every day except Sunday. The snorkel trip was good, and the diving outstanding. They provide all gear, but you are welcome to bring your own, and what you don't have, they do. If you have not logged a dive in the last 6 months, they require a check dive in their dedicated dive pool, so log a dive before going if you can.
They have a 2 dive trip in the morning, and a 1 dive trip in the afternoon, with divers limited to 2 dives a day. They do not allow shore diving from their property, and all dives are escorted. They have a 46 foot dive boat, with room for about 25 divers. Reserve your dives as early as possible for the next day, since when the boat is full, that's it for that trip.

All food, alcohol, soft drinks, and activities are included in the room price and the people are genuinely happy to see you, and go out of their way to make you happy, and they have a strict no tipping policy (except for your butler if you book that service level)

We particularly enjoyed High Tea, served at 4:00 in the Piano Bar. Very civilized and relaxing, the English got that one right.

All in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable experience, worth every cent we paid, and we'd go back tomorrow if we could.
