Ok.. Saw the butt end of this thing (I think it's the butt end) it looks like an eel of some kind... This piece of it is about 18 inces to 2 feet long maybe... I was in 50 FSW and near Deerfield Beach, FL. (South East Florida)

I had never seen anything like this, so of course I took a photo of it...

Hard or soft? Moving or not?
I didn't touch it. Not really moving. It looked like the tail of a Moray. The Humann book shows a "Broad Banded Moray" which looks similar, but they've not been sighted in Florida. Anything is possible I guess.
 
either that or the rest of teh cow is buried under there somewhere.... :)
