Can anyone tell me if the N2ition will figure the minimum surface interval when planning a repetitive dive, or do I need to use the chart? The user manual doesn't say.

I have the N2ition... I've only had a chance to use it for about 25 dives now and I honestly haven't paid close enough attention to notice whether it gives a MSI because I always take a long enough interval that it wouldn't have mattered or would have been gone by the time I re-entered the water. I don't recall seeing a count down on the display though for Surface Interval only the no fly countdown. Do you have it already? or are you considering buying it?

I'll have to wait till I get home. But there is a dive plan function and I believe that you can use it for on the fly multiple dives. The way that it works is after you get done with your first dive you can go into plan and enter your surface interval and it will give you the bt on your next dive. I don't know if you can go the other way to where you can enter your bottom time and get you surface interval. But like I said....I'll check when I gt home from work and let you know if someone else hasn't responded yet.

The N2ition only let's you change the depth which then adjust for the bottom time. Surface interval is pulled "Real time" from what has passed, which means you would have to calculate it by hand/table/head/etc. The only adjustable parameters would be the gas mixtures, PO2, Safety factor, etc.

I already have it, and like you, I have had enough surface time between dives that it wasn't an issue. I didn't see a countdown either, but didn't find the "manual" that forthcoming with information on use. It told what everything was(except low battery icon, never did see what that will look like, I'm sure it will be obvious) but I felt like it could have had a sample dive, or some examples. I think the N2ITION 3's might have a "simulated" dive feature. I know my skydiving computer does, to show what you would be looking at in an actual jump. I saw(can't remember where) where someone else felt the same about the manual, left something to be desired, but a great computer.

Thanks for your input. That is kind of what I gleaned from the instructions, just wondered if I might be missing something.
