Relax,,,respect,,,recreate!!!!

Yup these are the three rules I dive by.

1.Relax

or

no hurries,no worries. Relaxation is a key component for any good diving experience. I dive because I love the experience. The freedom, the weightlessness, the exploration, the sense of being somewhere and seeing something few have seen before me. And the pure honesty that can be found underwater. No masks no lies no hypocrisies, just nature in all its glorious honesty.

When I begin to descend I am overwhelmed by the sense of returning home. My heart rate slows, my breathing slows, my whole sense of being becomes like one with the water that surrounds me. Its like being back in the womb and in a sense it is being back in the womb, (of Mother Earth.) Diving for me is a spiritual journey and perhaps this is why I feel so relaxed and calm underwater.

Respect

Respect not only the water but the total environment being entered when diving. If you don't respect the water it can and likely will kill you. Water and sea life are brutally honest and uncomprimising. If you don't respect their rules for survival you may not get a second chance. I am their guest and I am in their world I must respect their rules or face the consequences.

Recreate

Have fun, enjoy the experience. If its stressful then it is not fun and if it is not fun why do it.

Not everyone who can be certified should be certified in my opinion. Over the years I have encountered many divers who got certified because a loved one wanted them to. Wrong reason. One should learn to dive because they themselves want to share the experience and not because of pressure to be a part of something they themselves don't feel totally comfortable with.
