I was just being quizzed by my newest EMT partner about how I can turn off emotions while working difficult scenes involving death. Sadly I told him at 21 years seeing death and dying makes you a cold, heartless bastard. Sometimes I see that as a good thing as I can focus on my task when times are difficult. But I forget sometimes that while our job ends at shift change - for others involved in the circumstance, it will be a lifetime. Thank you sir for snapping a lil compassion back to me for forgetting the whole picture.

In 2004 I lost my 54yo mother to a terminal disease. She was my best friend, and my hero. Today I have her memories, and I hope like I do, you can escape to a place where you can relive those special times when your son was with you.

God Bless Sir,

Ken
