Hi all,
Not sure if this is entirely the right place to post this but...

I've just discovered some rust in the button shafts of my Ikelite housing aaagh!! :depressed:
Does anyone know of anyway to remove it or will it need to go back to the manufacturer? Should i stop using it now?
Cheers
Jane

Jane,

Sorry to hear of your problem. Minor signs of corrosion may appear if salt and debris not thoroughly flushed from the pushbuttons after each dive. This may cause some of your pushbuttons to become "sticky" and stay depressed or return slowly. This does not typically result in leakage or damage to your camera.

As long as it does not affect the operation of the housing there is no need to address this corrosion. If it does become a problem, the housing may be returned to our factory for a full service. Service includes replacement of all seals and corroded parts, electrical test and water pressure test. See the following webpage for more information on housing service: IKELITE Underwater Systems

To prevent stickiness or corrosion, always rinse your housing thoroughly in clean freshwater after each dive. Each pushbutton and control should be actuated while the housing is submerged in freshwater to thoroughly flush salt and debris.

Kind Regards,

Jean / Ikelite

Thanks heaps Jean, I was beginning to think that the sounds of silence meant that it was broken!!
Appreciate your response
