I see folks putting their videos on YouTube all the time, so I thought I would give it a shot. It is disappointing to see how much color and detail is lost by the compression. Has anyone found the "best" settings for posting to YouTube? Here is a link to a video I put together from one of our dives on the Hilma Hooker in Bonaire in 2006.

Nice work Man!:D What kind of camera and housing are you shooting with? Where were you The quality was excellent. ;)I have posted about 30 somethings vidoes on utube and none have the quality you have. Check out some of my work here: YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Depth on the Hilma Hooker dive is about 90-100 ft to the ocean floor. Very nice dive, easy to do from boat or shore. Glad you like the video. Bonaire has very nice dives even for a newbie.

I'm using a Sony A1U in an Amphibico EVO housing. I didn't have lights for this dive, but I'm heading to the FL keys this weekend and will be trying out a set of lights. I really like the ability to manual white balance with the A1U. The video I posted has not been altered at all, just down graded to DV during download, and then down graded by rendering and even more by You Tube. The HD footage is really something to see.

I can imagine! I love the HD quality...its just a bit outta my price range right now in low season and all. I'm shooting with a Sony HC-85 in an Equinox housing. I like the set up but I'm ready for something better. ;) And the diving must be good in Bonaire I've heard. And your video show its beauty nicely. And you maitain steady shots...excellent!
 
Great vid! Man, I love that wreck. I've got some good footage of that site on youtube as well. I did my first wreck class there and I spend a lot of time on that wreck when I go back (my avatar is from that wreck). Ah.. memories.
 
Looks like the Sony HC-85 takes nice video too, looks like you get lots of practice, which I sure could use... On You Tube it does not really matter if it was HD or not since it all gets downgraded so much. I've been to Cozumel a couple of times for short trips, and to Costa Maya once, but never to Playa del Carmen. How would you compare Playa del Carmen with Cozumel? Is there drift diving? How is the visability typically? I really liked the Whale shark video, but the water appeared to be greener than I've seen in Cozumel or Costa Maya.
