Wooo Nelly,
Talk about something that is just amazing. I did my first dive under the ice yesterday with an instructor friend of mine. The ice is so amazing. I loved playing with the bubbles that rose to the bottom of the ice. I've been in a cavern before and the difference between the ice and the cavern was how smooth the ice was it made the bubbles look like glass, and a lot of fun to play with.
I did the dive in a WETSUIT. Actually it wasn't as bad as most the people on SB would make ya think. The suit was a 7mm Farmer John Styled suit and actually kept me very warm. Other than my hands I didn't have a single problem with feeling cold. Even once I got out I had enough time to run up to the car and change before the cold set in.
It was definatly an awesome expierence and I suggest it to anyone who just loves diving. (Taking the course of course. Not just jumping in under some ice)
