Hi,

I´m new to UW Photography, so I´d like to share my first UW photos with my Canon 590IS and Ikelite housing.

Just haven´t money to get a strobe, yet. But it'll be the next step, maybe next year.

You can see more pictures at:

and

Please, leave any comments.

Nice dives

Hi,

Of course I used the internal flash.

Those pictures were taken in Calpe (Near Benidorm - Spain), where visibility conditions were great.

Now I´ll have some trouble here on Portugal, were Atlantic waters bring more suspention and worse visibility.

I have the 570 IS I'm dying to upgrade to a new one and I'm curious as to how this one took pictures. Thy look AWESOME, the colors are great on these shots, are the edited or RAW? Do you know if the housing for the 570 IS will fit this one?

There is no need to "upgrade" from a 570 to the 590 since it is widely agreed among reviewers that the 570 is faster response, cycles faster, has UW settings and per one site, slightly better dynamic range. But, in real world, they are essentially the same camera so nothing would be accomplished and NO, the 590 will not fit into housings made for the 570.

Hi,

I´d just edited the picture of the "Tompot blenny" (Parablennius gattorugine). Make a crop to adjust the perspective.
This is my first UW camera, so I can´t compare it with others, but I´m very happy with it, specialy with the full manual comands, warm colors with their internal flash (and correct auto adjust of WB), and easy of use. I´m starting to use it at Manual mode (I started with TV and AV modes).

The cons are: 4 to 7 sec to process the image after a full flash (grrrrr); some slow response, and some vigheting UW (desfocussing not shade).

I´m starting to shoot in "our" muddy sea (Portugal), and there is some results:

Thanks

Looking great!! Thanks for sharing them :)

In future, if you put these out in the main UW Photo area more people will see them (and likely comment) as the manufacturer subforums are more aimed for talk about specific gear while the Show Off area is more in the main UW Photo area. It's not wrong to put them here at all, it's just that many who aren't interested in Canon gear won't come in here to look!

Ups... you are absolute right.
I´m sorry.

Thanks for the advice
