Hi folks,

Just looked at the Sea & Sea website, as a new item... they have a optical cable to join up the MX-10 to YS40 at extended distances. Has anyone seen it in real life and have an idea on cost? I wonder if it any provisions will be made to attach the YS40 to an arm? Wonder how it compares to www.gbundersea.com ?? Now I'm brimming with curiosity!!!

I saw this advertised, but haven't done any investigation.... with all the advice I've read about extending the flash I'm curious. I'll watch what kind of answers you get.

I haven't see the one from S&S but the one from Greg Bunch works very well...I have a friend who has it.

Dee,

Thank you for your many kind comments about my products. I appreciate it very much. I am also glad that they have worked out so well for you and others you know. I work hard to make sure that they do.

According to what I know, the new Sea&Sea fiber optic differs considerably from our MXTENDER system. Some of those differences are:

1. It lacks any provision for attachment to an arm.
2. Its cable is 30% shorter than that of the MXTENDER.
3. It is much lighter-duty, being made of plastic. The MXTENDER is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, the same material used to produce scuba cylinders.
4. It is not currently shipping.

I have not received a definite price yet. I have heard two unconfirmed reports, with one saying it will cost a little less than the MXTENDER, and the other that it will cost more.

In any case, I wish them luck with it. If it does sell for less than the MXTENDER, it won't be by much. The price difference, if there even is one, is more than worth it, given the ruggedness, quality, and expandability of our system.

Greg...it's easy to say nice things about your products! I've enjoyed them for several years, as you know. We refuse to take add-on lenses in the water without a Save-A-Lens kit attached. I appreciate the quality of your products and all the work involved to make something that's really useful and needed.

I recently sold my S&S SeaMaster Pro set-up in order to go digital and when the guy got it and saw the kit installed, he was thrilled to have it. He had heard about it but didn't know the name or who made it. Another satisfied customer!

Keep up the good work!
