Hi guys/gals
new to these forums so go easy on me.
Im looking at diving Walindi/febrina P.N.G. 2007

ive dived P.N.G milne bay mv chertan 2005

What iam after is some information on the MV Febrina,
condition of this vessel, meals, staff, type of diving ,anything good or bad that you have experianced on this vessel.

also what is the best time of year to dive the area that this vessel charters.

as well as your thoughts on Walindi resort.

Thank you.

I hear great things about Waldini and have talked to one of the owners who was very helpful and gave me her home number. They get rave reviews and I love the idea of splitting your time between land based and a live aboard for a shorter time. 2-3 days...would be perfect. Of course you have seen the site, stunning. I will lurk and see what others say who have actually been there.

You can not go wrong, you will have a good time. This is one of the places where I want to go back again, some of the best diving I have done and the staff were fantastic. If you want a friendly chat with the DM's then you will have to break the ice otherwise they tend to be very attentive but subservient. We were there OCT-Nov and everything was great.

I have spent quite a bit of time on the FeBrina over the years. I heard Alan say he might be selling her (year ago) and don't know if he still owns her. She is a great boat but the last time on her she was starting to show her age.
the aft cabins do not have ensuite bathrooms and the four cabins share two heads. That was never a problem and the heads were very clean and functional.
there is a steep ladder from both fore and aft cabins areas to the lounge. That gets a bit old. The forward cabins all have ensuite heads and are quite nice. The boat has a nice lounge and the food has always been great but the style varied each time due to different cooks. Suffice it to say, you might need two sizes of wet suits. One early in the dive, one later.
The dive deck is comfortable and out of the sun. The nicest part is that it has never been a "cattle boat". The diver groups are kept small.
The staff varies between the FeBrina and the Stardancer so it's hard to know who might be on it at any time. Alan picks good folks, though.
All in all, you can hardly go wrong with the FeBrina. Will I go back to her? Of Course!!!
I have pics of her if you would like me to send you some.
Walindi is beautiful, but they dive many of the same sites as the FeBrina on their day boats. There is no shore diving there. While it is a bit expensive, it is the only game in town.
