Multiple email notifications

I posted a question to the board today and everytime someone answers the post I get 5 identical reponses emailed to me. What is causing this?

The emails are because you're subscribed to the thread. To unsubscribe you can use the quick links button on the first red toolbar above and click the subscribed threads button.

Your settings may automatically subscribe you to any thread you post in. If you don't want that to happen, that can be changed by following this link: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions

As far as the multiple email issue goes, that is a known problem for some users that has been looked into. I'm not sure if anyone knows why it happens or what the fix is at this point, but we are aware of it.

I do want to receive instant notifications and realize that I may get an instant and a general but this is different - it is FIVE instant notifications immediately. I would appreciate it if you could get it worked out and thanks for your quick response.

I had something similar - I'm subscribed (daily) to a few threads and this morning received one of them twice. Identical text, sent two seconds later.

I have the same problem since a long time. For some subscribed threads I get several notifications at the same time, even if just one new posting was written. I just got 9 notifications of the same thread within one minute.

This has been an on-again/off-again issue for quite some time. I wouldn't hold my breath for it to be resolved any time soon.
