As I sat on my porch two days ago I noticed the Santa Fe River was "muddy" looking. I have never seen it muddy before. When I dived Devil's Ear on Saturday we had to swim through muddy water to get to the log at the entrance.

After talking to a couple of folks who are always studying the river and the springs they are guessing there was a sinkhole collapse upstream of my house, maybe in O'Leno state park.

It seems to be less muddy this morning.

It will be interesting if we ever find out where it happened.

The other day, while exiting the system (I went in thru the Eye), I swam over to Ear entrance and looked up. The tanic was so bad, I could not see daylight.

I was at Ginnie Saturday afternoon/ evening and noticed what looked like plumes of mud where the spring run hit the river. It wasn't just a normal tannic, it looked like someone was sitting on the bottom constantly kicking up the mud as waves of particulate were rolling in.

I initially figured I had scared some large animal off, but it never slowed down as I sat there and watched for about a half minute. It was bizarre.

Some people can only blame their gear. :D :D :D

It's an equipment solution to a skills problem. Or something like that.
