Headline:
Growth of Mount St. Helens lava dome reported

Could be sign of possible eruption

Wednesday, September 29, 2004 Posted: 11:49 AM EDT (1549 GMT)

MOUNT ST. HELENS, Washington (AP) -- The lava dome in the crater of Mount St. Helens apparently is growing, possibly a new sign of an impending eruption, a top volcano scientist said Wednesday.

The paper this morning reported tremors minutes apart, with action expected within a few days. Any activity was expected to stay within the existing crater.

actually, the report said

"Any activity is expected to stay within the existing crater.
Or at least we really, really hope so."

In unrelated news, the newspaper's main office will be
relocated to Chicago this weekend.

In 80 I had 3 rolls of film disappear that I had taken of the Ash mess in Spokane. They disappeared at the developer.

Quarrior, what excuse did the developer give you?

It was the base exchange at Fairchild. They don't give excuses. Just said they lost them and if I filled out all the paperwork correctly, they would and did replace the film.

Really sucked not having those once in a lifetime pics.

Make your own dark room ;)

Heh, should've seen your local admin clerk. I'm sure they have official looking tracking forms you could've made the counter guys sign. Get someone (especially a soldier) to sign any paperwork, and he'll be a lot more inclined to keep track of things........Of course it wouldn't stop him from making extra copies of the photos, but maybe you'd at least have your negatives.....

I'm military, but Canadian. In the Canadian Forces we have this nifty little form in triplicate nicknamed the "728".... and it can be used as a tracking document. Whoever signs the thing is basically claiming responsibility for the goods named
