Hi dear divers!
I would be very grateful for your advise: where can I fiend information about online education in marine science. One my very good diving-friend wants to have Ms Degree in marine biology or reef ecology; he lives on beautiful remote island (with internet access) and would like to participate in some research program. He has limited fanatical resources but grate interest and passion for the reef research! If somebody know about online education in this field please contact me about this matter!
Thank you very much in advance!!!

I would recommend you check out some of the major universities online and check out their research institute pages. I'd include ours but it's getting renovated - and even so, we don't have any reef researchers (or many reefs locally in NZ!). Did my masters in aquaculture technology but now I'm onto a PhD in rocky shore ecology. I love epifauna so I'd lean towards reef ecology if I was (gasp) subtidal. Anyway, I'm digressing, but do go and check out some universities. Australia is right bangsmack next to the Barrier Reef so some of their uni's likely have big connections to reef research. Good luck.

Some of the best college programs in the US are at (no particular order):

U of Hawaii - Hilo
U of Rhode Island
Cornell U
University of Miami
Barry U
Texas A&M U, Galveston
U of South Florida
U of Washington
California State U, Long Beach

Here's a great info page on college Marine Biology programs in the US, this website has tons of general info as well: http://marinebio.org/MarineBio/Careers/USschools.asp
