Along with my new Zeagle Escape BC I also bought a Mares MR12 Epos reg setup with an MR12 Nikos octo online. I dived with it last weekend and it seemed fine to me, but I don't have much to compare it with.

As I said on another thread the guy from my LDS says its junk (he says everything I bought online is junk, including the Zeagle BC which he says is a deathtrap).

Anyone have any views on this? - Rodales seems quite positive. I'm always willing to admit I've made a mistake, but for the money (which is hard to work out exactly, but I had change of $900 for a Genesis React Nitrox computer, the complete reg setup with the SPG, 1st +2nd stages + octo and the BC) it seemed like a reasonable bet.

So is my chain being yanked, or have I been suckered?

Your chain is being yanked.

Your lds is on lsd.

He's pissed 'cause you bought online.

Whatever the problem;

Zeagle is a great BCD, he's just got an issue with weight integration.

Your Mares is the one we use in rentals, and they are great with regular service after 100's of dives.

Dive happy, knowing that you made a good decision.

Thanks Canuckton - you've eased my worries and reduced the chances of my wife beating me to death for spending so much money on scuba gear.

:D
