I thought I would let scubaboard members in on a little secret. The first weekend in September, I experienced some great diving!!!!
Salt water from the Newfoundland coast meets fresh water from the St Lawrence River, there is a small town called Les Escoumins, here is some of the best diving in Eastern Canada. Some of the best salt-water critters, I have ever seen. Soft coral and anemenes, things that look like mushrooms called tunicates, as far as the eye can see, star fish, sea cucumbers, crabs of all sizes, "what a spectacular view", vis,was 30-40ft and this is not even the best time of the year for visiablity.
The night diving to me was the best dive for viewing night critters like "krill" and marine life that eat the krill.
My accommodations were great, enough food to feed a small army and great hospitality that gave me the true eccency of Quebec life.
Don't get me wrong, I love diving here in, South Western Ontario and I have a real passion for wreck diving, but it's amazing to see salt-water creatures and do some whale watching to boot!!
There are some wrecks which I plan on exploring next year when I revisit, this awesome diving spot
A dry suit is strongly suggested, as for the tempature of the water is slighty chilly, but how invigorating,so refreshing, after donning on a dry suit with air temp. in the 70's.
This spot is a most to see for yourself!!!
The most fun you'll have LEGALLY :mean:
