Howdy,
I bought DAN insurance for me and my wife when we were getting certified a year ago. A few month ago I also purchased NAUI dive insurance in addition to my DAN policy. I figured that between the two I should be well covered.
I was talking to a friend who said that this type of insurance is what is called "secondary" insurance - it only pays whats left after your main health
insurance pays whatever it is going to pay.
He said that if I have 2 secondary type insurances (DAN & NAUI) then they could fight when the time comes to pay up. Each would want to be secondary to the other and neither would want to pay up.
I called NAUI and the lady on the phone said don't worry about it DAN and NAUI would work it out. I thought to myself, yeah right, sure they would.
Anyone heard of problems like this? Maybe I should cancel one.
