This is from the shallows on the way back into the beach at LBTS back in September. I guess they're 6-8 inches long. Is this a little bar jack and a yellow jack, or two bar jacks and one of them just looks a little different? Don't think I've come across small yellow jacks before.

Consider Yellowtail Snapper for the odd man out.

Where / what is LBTS?

And then there was this guy doing that bar jack shadowing thing. . .

I think the Jack is shadowing the Blue-Striped Grunt, not the other way around. I've seen Bar Jacks do this to several different species, including rays.

Pretty sure all the jacks are bar jacks including the "little bit different one" with more yellow. Then there are 2 slippery dicks, and a Yellowtail snapper on the other pics. and finally another bar jack with a Bluestriped Grunt.

@knotical : LBTS = Lauderdale by the Sea, a popular local beach dive here in South east FL by Frt. Lauderdale.

Whilst on that very dive at Lauderdale By The Sea (LBTS), I spotted a juvenile (intermediate?) Yellowtail Snapper: IMG_4757acrre | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Haven't noticed many of those on other dives.
