so my friend and I are planning a few shore dives in Monterey California and we've been researching possible sites. Anyone have any favorites they would like to recommend?

What's your experience level?

Here's a nice interactive map with the dive sites rated by Novice, Intermediate, Difficult and Technical...

just reached master diver. Definitely still consider myself a novice but I feel very comfortable navigating in the water. Just wanted to have time to research possible sites so I could
get an idea for current, surge, kelp bed lanes etc

One of my favorite places to dive in Monterey County is in Pacific Grove, it's called Lover's Point. If you look it up, you'll see that there are about 4-6 dive sites around it. It's great, I reccomend the beach next to the kayak rental if you go there, since you consider yourself a novice :D

I'm from cali. Was originally certified in Monterey actually. I was supposed to get certified in Hawaii but I injured an eardrum cliff jumping there :-/
