Is this the only sealed 1st stage reg SP makes? Is it good for all around use or only for cold water? I want to outfit my doubles for cold water so I can dive some wrecks in lake michigan and dive longer in the midwest season. I am trading some carpenter work to a guy for an MK17 with a G250V. For the other post my LDS says they can get me the new Halcyon version of the MK17 for less money than the actual MK17 from SP. does this sound like it would work and would it work well in the summer when the water temps warm into the 70's and 80's?
Thanks for your opinions.

The MK17 is the only 1st from SP I like. It is sealed.

A sealed reg is going to preform well regardless of temp. A non-sealed reg is possibly not going to work well in the cold, i.e. - freeze.

Can't tell you about the Halcyon.

The Mk17 is an awesome reg and will work flawlessly in all conditions.

I have the MK17/G250V and love it. Great reg for all water temps. It's sealed so is one of the best for cold water. Also great for any type of diving once again since its sealed no worries about contaminents entering into it.
