Hi!

Currently considering a minke whale expedition liveaboard from Cairns. Mike Ball being fully booked, it seems I have two main options:

1) Ocean Quest special Minke expedition (4d) which goes to the ribbon reefs. Steve’s Bommie seems to be almost guaranteed but the Cod Hole is not in their listed diving spots.

2) Spirit of Freedom Minke expedition (7d) which also goes further North where the dives seem a bit more challenging but it’s unclear what there is to see specifically.

I have seen very good reviews of SoF but not much about Ocean’s Quest special Minke expedition. Most reviews are about their regular operation in Saxon reefs etc.

The main problem with SoF is that it is 2x more expensive, plus me and my partner are not in the best shape so 4-5 dives a day might be pushing it. Is it really worth it? Anybody has experienced the Ocean Quest?
