My wife and I just returned from a 7-day liveaboard on Mike Ball's Spoilsport on the Great Barrier Reef and to Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea.

Outstanding!

We have over 600 dives each, and have been on 15+ liveaboards, including Aggessor and Dancer boats and some others. Spoilsport was absolutely top-notch in every way.

Every member of the crew was great. Cheerful, active, eager to help when asked but unintrusive otherwise. Fantastic job. The Engineer kept every major piece of equipment working for the entire trip -- surprisingly, that's just about a first in our dive trip experience. The boat was in excellent shape.

Dive sites were excellent, but that's just expected. One wouldn't put in a liveaboard operation where there wasn't excellent diving. That said, the Spoilsport moorings put us right at the reef for every dive. The GBR coral variety is amazing, with lots of healthy fish from pinhead size fry to 4 foot potato "cod" and 10-12 foot sharks. Also some occasional pelagics.

I unhesitatingly recommend Mike Ball and Spoilsport to anyone considering them for a trip.

I'll put up some pix later.
