I've checked on the Michigan State web site and didn't have any luck trying to find spear fishing info. Does anyone have any idea what the laws are? Is it just for bottom feeders or can you spear Salmon and Walleye? Is there a season. If anyone has info or even a site I could check out please let me know.

Got put on hold at DNR and I figured if it was anything like the rest of the government i'd probably die waiting. I called Bass Pro Shop and they didn't have a clue. I guess I'll have to take my chances on the phone again. Thanks

How about Here . Look under "Bow and Spear fishing" and i think it may answer your question.

Ain't that the truth,, what about the local bait and tackle shops? they should have the regs there.

I don't know how I missed this on the government site. Thanks for the information, that's exactly what I'm looking for. As I suspected the only fish you can spear appear to be bottom feeders.

Yeah, it's pretty restrictive.

You didn't hear it from me but if they go through with their plans to plant Tiger Muskie in one of my favorite Bass/Walleye lakes up here, i know some people, who talked to some people, that are related to some people, who will be getting into the "stealth" spear fishing game.

From your profile pic, i assume you can maintain OPSEC on this matter. ;)
