Mermet Springs Conditions????

How's the conditions at Mermet? Planning to maybe be down there next weekend, but don't want to drive 6 hours for 5' viz. Early July heard the conditions were pretty bad, but getting better. Their website is showing maybe "good" conditions. Would like to hear from somebody that has been down there recently.

We made it down to Mermet and it was great to be back. I would say the diving was "okay". Viz was 5-10', but very milky. Not bad, but I wouldn't say viz was great. Surface temps were bath water around 83 degrees. The thermocline was around 18' and it got really cold at that point. We ventured down to 65' to look for a lost mask and it did open up a little, but even in my 7mm I was pretty cold (use to diving dry).

You might wanna talk to the staff aT Mermet. Based on my conversations with them at Our World Underwater in Chicago last February, the best viz allegedly occurs in October.
