Memory Card...Type M or Type H?

I want to purchase a couple of new XD memory cards for my Oly SP-350 before I leave for Bonaire. Can someone please explain to me the difference between type M and type H and is worth the price difference.

The cheaper M cards will work in your camera, but you will have to wait a little longer after taking a picture to take another.

Theoretically, the M cards are two to three times faster than the H cards.

Since the SP-350 is slow to write to a card, IMHO, you should buy the faster type H card.

The Olympus brand type M cards allow you to use the panoramic feature in yoru camera. It will take several shots and allow you to stitch them together. I believe that some software programs will allow you to do that with the H card in post processing. The type M card takes about 10 seconds to write a RAW file to the card. The H card takes about 7 seconds.

Read and write speed are the only differences. The panoramic feature is a small program that is burned in to Oly brand cards- H or M does not matter. If you don't care about that feature brand is a non issue. The decision to spend the extra cost is up to you. It is not worth it IMO, if your worried about an extra 3 or 4 seconds of write time, you need to slow down and worry more about composing your shots.
