Memorial at Shaw's Cove for Jeff Newell

Found this yesterday in about 40' northeast of Turnaround Rock.Not much on the Internet about Mr. Newell but obviously his loved ones wanted him remembered and made the effort to leave this behind.

Did not know Mr. Newell but it is a nice final resting site. I assume his ashes are inside the tube? RIP

That's what I thought at first but it seems that it is filled with sand.

I was talking with some of the neighbors there and Laguna is such a nice community, it is a shame it is getting overcrowded. Yesterday was nuts, but once you are in the water, it is world class awesome.
