The "Tricycle Taxi" - One of the most utilized methods of transportation in the Philippines. Made from a small engine motorcycle with a sidecar welded to it. They are as commonplace as a taxi in New York City but not nearly as expensive. Almost all of them have a religious expression or biblical quotation on the rear portion. No doubt one of Spain's legacies after 333 years of colonization and Vatican influence over the Philippines.

Wonderful as always. Love the *talking* fish at the end. ;)

Thanks for the photos, Jim. Have a safe flight back to Hawaii. Next time you're back try stop by Manila to hang out with us.

I dunno if you know this tidbit - I believe the Biblical quotes on back of the trikies were due to the mayor back in the day disliked the fact that most of the trikies had drawings of seductive girls, etc. on them and he wanted to clean them up. So he issued a local law that all the trikies must have a bible quote on the back of their trikies to remind everyone of God's presence.

yep, 300 years of Vatican brainwashing followed by 80 years of Hollywood... :D

Nice, exactly what I wanted to see.

I'm currentley at Schiphol, Amsterdam, but next stop is Manila and then Bohol:)

Very nice. I'll miss the pics from the Philippines, but I am sure we will see more from Maui.

Thanks for posting your awesome photos for us to enjoy.

Have a safe trip home.

Excellent pictures and observations Jim. Evidently the area you were visiting is a Christian one with all the quotes on the taxi's.
