I just completed my cert. dives in a local quarry about 24 feet. Later that day I went swimming in a pool with my mask and experienced some discomfort right above my eyes. With out the mask the discomfort was less so I obviously loosened the strap. Today I went in the pool again and experienced, to a lesser degree, discomfort without even having the mask on. Any thoughts?

It could be a sinus problem. Did you have a cold or allergy symptoms?

He could be like me. I have allergies and every time I dive I'll have minor issues the next dive, or just going under. Once I hit 10 feet I have to slow down, a 1 hour surface interval helps a lot however, but if I come up and then go down 20 minutes later I can guarantee I'll have sinus issues.

Pseudofed fixes that but since I dive Nitrox I don't use the stuff anymore, I just go down slowly and wait for the sinus's to clear.

I went with my brotherinlaw on a resort dive last month. He made it down 10 feet then his ear starting killing him. Doctor said it was a major ear infection and not to fly, he didn't listen and burst his eardrum.

Guess I won't be converting him into a diver...
