Has any one been to Majuro in the Marshall Islands?

I am planning a trip for September or October 2006. need info on Dive center, places to stay etc.

Did you ever find any information? If so...what did you find? Are you going?

Yes...lots of plate corals...a few fishies...great vis....if you want to see anything you have to go out on a liveaboard...

Where did you go? What livaboard? What did you like? Dislike? What would you do differently? Dy

Sorry for the misunderstanding...no I did not go, just replied to the post on Information I found....did not sound like there was enough action....in fact a major tour operator was discussing the trip with me when I mentioned I was a Palau Diver...he changed gears and did not think it was my kind of diving.

There are two opertors in Majuro. Bako Divers and another who I don't remember. Jerry does as good job with Bako. Diving is inside of the atoll where you get various wrecks which are good for a dive or so. Outside of the atoll was very nice though we did not see that much pelagic action. Arno which is another atoll about 20 miles from Majuro was also very nice. Currently there are NO liveaboards working these waters. If you are offered a trip on the Oleanda you best say no thanks. They canceled our trip back in May and the boats currently in dry dock. Word on the street in Majuro was that a liveaboard may soon start operating which could be very interesting. You also have Bikini but thats a set one week opertion. As to Kwajalain unless you work there you are going to have a hard time getting permision to be on the island.
