Any reason why I shouldn't use a permanent marker on my wetsuit, boots, hood and gloves? I just bought a non-toxic, acid-free permanent marker to mark my dive computer (my husband and I have the same computers) and would like to also use it on these items.

The package says it's safe for fabrics and plastics, but I'm not sure if they would harm the neoprene at all.

I marked my wetsuits, gloves, hoods and boots with a standard silver sharpie. Didn't harm them at all, but also didn't last. After about 7-8 dives it is pretty much 100% worn off.

Whoops. Thanks.

Or you could just mark them the same ways dogs mark their territory.

 That would rinse off, would it not?

Dunno, I hear those wetsuit divers re-mark them every dive.

You can put your initials on the label with a black sharpie. I wouldn't want any markings on my wetsuit. I suppose you could do it on the inside.
