An article in the Bonaire Reporter this week says that the famous Marie Bhan wreck also known as the Windjammer has collapsed.

This was and probably still is one of the most fabulous wreck dives anywhere.

Controversary abounded last year when Bopec officials put the entrance to the dive site off limits to divers. The author of the article dove the wreck and discovered the tragedy from a boat.

What a shame... one of my favorites.
She was a beauty.

Ya, went we just went in April it was closed due to owner or whoever wasn't allowing any divers there....damn!

We had perfect dive at Marie Bhan at 1Q 2007. Two archaeologists and tutor. TX15/65 tech rig + 50% +100%. Sony HDCAM and assistant lights. Film document for Discovery Channel International HD. Permissions from maritime museums. 32min penetration.
Wreck is not collapsed, but dangerous place to penetrate. Tar cargo. Beautifull inside. Bow section has the ghost inviting you come deeper inside..

Hey guys....

I know that last year, it collapsed into itself somewhat, but was still penetrable, but VERY DANGEROUS. It I will check with Bart & Bob at Wannadive. I know they could get permits to dive it.

FYI, if it is still diveable, you need to request a permit BEFORE you get here. They have to go to the harbormaster and get permission. You will need to provide a copy of your passport before you get here.
