is the mares vector BC good for a beginner for jus everyday normal diving, tropical water.. no deeper than 80 ft.. nothing technical jus a BC for rec diving..Can almost call it even vacation diving just a lot moreee frequent...jus for a simple BC opinions?

i loved my mine, very well built, comfortable and layed out well. My only gripe was a very small hard to get into pocket, sometimes wished i hadnt sold it,i replaced it with a black diamond, wanted a back inflate.

I have a Mares Vector 1000 Air Trim that I have dove for over a year in fresh and salt water. I volunteer as a Public Safety Diver and have found this BC to be great for regular recreational diving as well as having lots of D rings and pockets large enough to house items I need for PSD. The material is tough nylon and has held up great from all the dives I have put it through (fresh, salt, rope searches, etc) my only complaint is that it is a little heavy overall, makes for a little trouble when traveling. However I was able to fit all my dive gear in a rolling duffel bag last November to Mexico and make 45 lbs. It is a great BC and will hold up well, if you have the choice I would definitely recommend the Air Trim, super convenient and works great.

Our shop uses Mares BC's for open water training. They suggest that the instructors wear the Vector to influence students.

The pockes are too high and and too small to be useful. There is too much padding that is absolutely useless once 3 meter depth is obtained. If I get all of the air out of the BC, roll it up and throw it in the pool it floats....then 1.5kilos of weight is needed to make it sink....that means 1.5kilos of weight will be needed on the belt for compensation. Air trim is not known by most divers so in an emergency situation there may be a learning curve to overcome when time matters. It cost alot. It is well made. You can do better.
