I jsut purchased one..

Can anybody give me the good and the bad about it.

I hope its all good........

Thanks

PS Is $400 a good price?

Little late for research on the product, don't you think................. LP is selling this for $389.95.

Mares has been in this business for a long time. Most BC's are pretty much the same. It all depends on the fit and trim. Probably would have gone with the BP/W setup if I had to change.

Features

Integrated weights with mechanical release system (MRS) - Good, velcro wears out over time. Imagine losing your weights for some reason.

Air trim system: perfect buoyancy control, great safety and increased comfort during the dive - Not familiar with that......

Trim weight system. The option to store fixed rear weights, up to 5 lbs per pocket (2 pockets), makes it possible to adjust buoyancy in the water as needed - Most have this....

Quick Adjustable System, for quick and precise cummerbund adjustment - No biggy

Two three-dimensional pockets whose internal volume remains constant regardless of bag inflation - Nice

Twin Exhaust Valve System - nice.

The special backpack protection can be used in two positions depending on the diver's needs - what are they talking about??

Upper quick dump/over-expansion relief valve, with a control that is always readily accessible and easy to use - Nice feature, use mine all the time.

Manual quick dump/over-expansion relief rear valve - would hope so

Two rear quick dump/over-expansion relief valves - ok

Oral Inflator - better have one of these.

It would have been nice if it had a carry handle, two tank adaptor options..........

Basically this says it all.......

The Airtrim system does not give you perfect bouyancy control - only you can do that - but it is very easy and comfortable to use. beware of overdumping on decents, if you hold the dump and keep holding after the bc is empty it will take in lots of water. Short bursts and correct weighting make diving the AT system easy.

I have a Morphus twin and love it, Cressi, Seaquest and Mares have invested heavily in this type of BC, We may be finally saying goodby to the corrugated hose for recreational diving!...................Why did I say that.................

I got mine at my local dive shop so I have the ease of just bring it to him if I have any issues. I like the price of online but it is a hassal to return items.

QUESTION on the weight. I only use 6lbs. Should I put it in the back pockets or the front pockets? (I have not had a chance to dive with it yet!)
