Mares V32 & V16

I'm looking at purchasing the Mares V32 Proton XL Reg or the V16 Proton. Is there really much of a difference between the two first stages (or is it just aesthetics?) Thanks for any input!

The V32 provides such a large quantity of gas that it can actually match the full flow capability of two Proton second stages running at maximum rate. The V16 offers slightly less gas flow, but is still more than adequate for the primary and secondary second stages. They both use the SCS system which is a replaceable HP seat system that generally offers a longer service life than a standard HP assembly.

I personally prefer the hose routing of the V32 if you are using a hoseless transmitter. The V16 hoses run a bit close with the transmitter housing. The V32 runs the HP ports down at an angle.

The servicing of both are virtually identical, and are generally problem free. The second stages are the same, with the covers being slightly different.

id say go for 32, i found it not very comfortable sipping air from the v16..........

Thanks for your input! I wish I could try them both out at depth and compare. I'm mostly a warm water diver, but will soon be stepping up to Instructor, and I suppose I would be better prepared with the ability to offer as much air as a panicking student may need. So, probably will go with the V 32. Thanks!
