The Mares Puck Pro manual lists the "sampling rate" as 5 seconds, and the indications are that the same parameter for the Puck is 20 seconds. Is this actually a sampling rate for depth, or did something get lost in the translation? An actual sampling rate (actually sampling period) would mean that this is how often the measurement is taken. If this is actually just the resolution of the log, then I suspect a fairly rapid sampling is done, but the maximum depth achieved within the 5/20 second time window is recorded, then the computer goes to the next time chunk. Anyone know which answer is correct?
