Hello fellow divers.
Could someone tell me whether Proton Ice is nitrox compatible or not. I found contradicting info on the web. :06:

Thanks everybody!

Yes It Is to 40% without any modifications

Mares will not state that it is NITROX capable in its manual or website for legal liability reasons.

They sell NITROX regs. So this is a bad marketing tactic to make people pay more.

They sell NITROX kits for regs... which basically are 02 resistant 0-rings and gaskets.

No worries diving nitrox with your reg, just get it serviced regularly and change all the o-rings during servicing. There are people out there who will not change the o-rings if they are not worn, to lower the cost of reg maintenance.

I have a Proton Ice and have used it several times with Nitrox on extended trips and have had no problems.
