Mares Mission 2 Gauge

I purchased the Mares Mission 2 gauge console.

I am not in love with the as I find it stiff and too long.

I would like to swap out for a shorter flex hose.

I have attached a pic.

Can I pull the rubber boot off the bottom to expose the nut for attachment or is the boot permanent?

I would verify as much as possible, but these are generally designed for the hoses to be replaceable (the gauges will typically last much longer than the hoses).
